Majdanek concentration camp, Lublin, Poland, 2018. On 3 November 1943, in Operation Erntefest (Harvest Festival), 18,000 Jews were shot just outside the camp. They were camp prisoners and slave labourers from the surrounding area. Music was played over loudspeakers in the camp to drown out the sounds of the murders.
